Question or issue on macOS:
I have been using Genymotion on OS X 10.8 but after I updated it to Mavericks, the Genymotion device does not work properly. The three buttons which should be at the bottom appear at the top. However the touch is uneffected. Thus while the buttons are shifted to top, they are sensitive to touch only when touched at bottom.

How to solve this problem?
Solution no. 1:
the problem should occur with integrated graphics (Intel) but not with dedicated one (such as with MBP Retina with Nvidia GPU).
We, at Genymotion, found the problem and have a patch ready. We’re in the process of testing it, there will be an update ASAP.

Solution no. 2:
Close all virtual machines which is related to genymotion;
Remove genymotion.app *genymotion_shell.app* from Applications folder.
Find genymotion ghost files and remove them.
By default installation;
cd /Users//.GenyMobile
rm -rf .Genymobile
Download genymotion 1.3.1 which has the correction for this problem.

Install genymotion with .dmg file as usually.

Than try to run your device from android studio || eclipse plugin
Ps: If the problem goes on
try ;
1-remove all old vm machines
2-Remove virtualbox engine. (If you can’t be sure to remove fully virtualBox I suggest to use Appzaper)
3-Download and reinstall it.
3-Restart your os (This step is required.)
4- Than try to run your device from android studio || eclipse plugin

After migrating, there is sometimes bugs with VirtualBox. Uninstalling and reinstalling it should fix most of them.
There is a known bug where the notification bar and the navbar are wrongly positionned. We are aware of it and working on it. Thank you to all the people that already reported it, the data provided did help us greatly.
I updated virtual box to the latest version und reinstalled genymotion, this worked out for me.

let me guess, u also have a 13″ MacBook Pro?
Maybe it belongs to the graphics driver, i face the same problem.
But i can also say: It does not occur on a 15″ MacBook Pro (Company Device)
Tip for better experience: You can disable the Big Navigaton Buttons in Emulator Settings, and use the Nav. Buttons on the Genymotion Emulator (Right Side)

In this blog, we will understand how to setup Genymotion Android Emulators.
Concept of Emulators is very good for some one who needs access to Android OS without worrying about hardware. But Google’s android emulators face some problems. Althogh it was claimed that with latest release there are significant improvements but its not true. Two main problems are:
- Google’s emulators are very slow and they take ages to boot up and also sleep very frequently, so they are not idle candidates for some one who needs to switch on or off emulators frequently.
- Also they eat lot of RAM, so if you have 2-3 Emulators open at the same time, your machine will become very slow. Any testers would need multiple emulators open at the same time.
Genymotion Emulators (https://www.genymotion.com/) have solved above problems very efficiently and thus i recommend using them for automation. Genymotion is free (basic plan) and they have some paid plans also. For this blog we will use free Genymotion.
Follow these steps to setup Genymotion emulators on mac OS:
Step 1) Go to https://www.genymotion.com/pricing-and-licensing/ and click on ‘Individual’ Tab and click ‘Get Started’.
Step 2) Register with your credentials, and login.
Step 3) Click on Download. wait for download to finish.

Step 4) Install the .dmg file and move it to ‘Applications’
Step 5) Launch ‘Genymotion.app’ from applications.
Step 6) The Genymotion application starts. A dialog prompts you to “Add a first virtual device”. Click Yes.
Step 7) Multiple devices are pre-listed. Select a device of your choice and click Next. Follow through the prompts.
Step 8) Once the device is created, select it and click Start.
Step 9) Device will start in no time. It has all the apps provided by Google’s Emulators and these emulator work with all ‘ADB’ commands also.
Step 10) Now go to terminal, and type this command to check the device:
adb devices
Step 11) Now to install the app, use these commands on termial
